About Surya Dev Aarti

Vidhi for Performing Surya DevAarti

The Surya Aarti should preferably take place on a Sunday. If a fast is kept, it will provide double benefits. Begin each day with Surya Namaskara. The elements required for the Aarti are roli Akshat, uncooked rice, Puja ki Thali, flowers, Dhoop Batti, Incense stick, photo or idol of Lord Surya. A red cloth, Aasan, Supari, coriander seeds, cotton seeds, Lotus Flower Seeds, dry whole turmeric, a silver coin, some candies for prasad, and lotus seeds. Begin by lighting the diya in front of the goddess’ idol. Then ignite the incense sticks and begin the Aarti by ringing the bell repeatedly and saying Jai Surya Dev, followed by offering the flowers and grains to the Lord. You might retain some fruits as Prasad for distribution after the Puja.
